We’ve launched SuperTroop September! This is our new community challenge push to raise funds for SuperTroop! The goal of SuperTroop is to provide excellent holidays for children and young people with learning and sometimes physical disabilities. Our model is to provide a safe and fun environment within which our volunteers can create magical holiday experiences for the holiday-makers.
Could you be a fundraiser for SuperTroop September and help us reach our goal of £8,000?
SuperTroop September is for everyone! Whether you are a sports enthusiast, an elite cyclist, or just take on a fun challenge within your community.
We’ve included some ideas for fundraising - but you’re welcome to come with your own ideas - plus all the information you should need to get going, but please get in touch should you have any questions or suggestions.
Community Fundraising Ideas
Community fundraising events are fun ways to raise money for a good cause and a good way to make friends along the way!
You might want to recruit your work team to help you take on a joint challenge, like:
A car-wash or bag-packing at your local supermarket;
An event you can charge entry for, like a gig or karaoke night;
A jumble sale, raffle or bake sale;
These are things that we are doing to fundraise for SuperTroop September 2023 and there might be spaces to join us:
The Munro Challenge - tackling five Munros in 24 hours on 26 August
The Edinburgh Kilt Walk - covering from 3 miles up to 23 miles in a kilt on 17 September 2023
The Scottish Half Marathon on 24 September 2023
High Five Cold Dip - five different wild swims in one day on 9 September
If you would like to get involved with one of these, please email us.
What do I need to do?
Pick an activity you will use to fundraise - if this is a group activity, recruit team members to fundraise with you
Set your fundraising target. Aim high! Pages with targets raise 17% more!
Create your own Fundraising Page on JustGiving and link it to the SuperTroop September page:
You can do this by clicking ‘Join this team’.
Make sure you enter SuperTroop as your chosen charity when setting up your justgiving page. This means the donations will come to us directly, and we can claim GiftAid.
When creating your page, you may want to choose to embed this video so others can learn about the work of SuperTroop.
Tell your friends and family about SuperTroop September and ask them to help you fundraise for SuperTroop - if you have been involved in SuperTroop, you may want to share your own personal experience.
Share your fundraising efforts on social media, before, during and after the event

Spread the word
Sharing your plans through social media in the build up to SuperTroop September can be a good way of boosting your fundraising. Download our social media toolkit for some suggested posts, images and a video that you are free to use. Don’t forget to follow and tag SuperTroop in your posts so we can spread the word even further.
Consider approaching a local pub or cafe to help you host an event - local businesses are often happy to help out with a good cause, and it does no harm to their popularity! You could also approach your local supermarket to see if they would be interested in SuperTroop becoming their nominated charity.
Good luck with your challenge and please do keep us updated on your plans so that we can support you with them by contacting us.
